Crest Ridge Saddlery

Saddle Fitting, Saddles, Saddle Pads and Tack for Horses and Mules

Crest Ridge Saddlery starts with expert saddle fitting to produce the best saddle, saddle pad and tack for your horse or mule. Our approach is the same regardless if you are riding a gaited horse, stock horse, draft horse or mule.  You form a unique combination with your equine.  Each saddle is built to order using your measurements.  A master saddle fitter uses your measurements to select which one of our 19 different trees will provide the best fit for your equine partner and advise you which of our models work best with that tree.  Since each saddle is built to order, you also have the opportunity to have your saddle customized at a surprisingly affordable cost.

We design and produce all of our saddles, tack, and saddle pads here in the United States. We provide you exceptional value by combining saddle fitting, top-of-the-line materials, everything custom built by Amish master craftsman, outstanding customer service, and the reasonable prices possible with a family owned and operated business. We stand behind our products and guarantee saddle fit and the quality of our tack. We welcome your visit and thank you for considering Crest Ridge Saddlery for all of your saddle, tack, and saddle pad needs.

Rider safety begins with a well fitted saddle.  A well fitted saddle helps keep your horse calm, comfortable and responsive.  The proper saddle also keeps the rider in the a secure center-balanced position.  We can custom make saddles for kids to help them learn correct equitation while helping keep them safe. If you plan to attend an expo..... please bring your photos and measurements to our booth!  We will gladly do your fitting and if we do not have the saddle you want there then you can get it ordered at the show.  We will  even pay to ship it to you!  (Free shipping applies only to saddles ordered at one of the events we are attending)

Our most frequently asked questions:
How do I stop Saddle Squeaks?

Saddle squeaks are caused by 2 pieces of leather rubbing together. To eliminate them remove the screws from the front of your saddle and tip it upside and generously spray the underside of the leather with Leather New or rub in a lot of Bick 4 leather conditioner.

The most common mistake people make is forgetting to condition ALL of the fender leather where it goes up and over the tree. Make sure you pull the fender leather down (through the tree) so that you can adequately apply conditioner to both sides of the leather where it makes the bend through the fender slot. This is the most common source of leather squeaks.

How should I care for my new saddle?

I recommend using Leather New on the topside of your saddle. If you do get a scratch, saturate it with this product and then rub the leather hard with a cloth. This should help cover the scratch if it did not go through the finish.
Your saddle should be completely conditioned at least every 6 months or anytime it gets wet.
How do I clean Codura?

Brush or vacuum it off. Then use Woolite upholstery cleaner and a stiff horse brush on it. Wipe it clean with a towel.
